Borrego Springs Winter Cruise

Last weekend I joined the Borrego Springs Winter Cruise, which was hosted by the AutoFeels Driving Club and the San Diego RX Club.
On the way to we went past Ramona and Santa Ysabel and then to Borrego Springs, which is located east of the mountains, roughly 2hours from San Diego. On the way back we swung by Julian and then took the i8 west back to San Diego.
Luckily I was able to ride shotgun in my friend Mike's Ferrari. First time!

Ferrari time.

Corvette hiding.

Dodge Challenger parked at our first stop, Santa Ysabel.

Corvette going downhill on the scenic route with breathtaking views.

Vintage Mazda RX-7 GTU.

California!

On our way we happened to run into the spirit animal of the Ferrari.

Dodge Challenger trailing the Mazda RX-7 down on winding roads into the vast valley of the desert.

Sweet rides: Corvette and Camaro SS in Borrego Springs.

Shiny Ferrari rims.

At our destination Borrego Springs, with the mountains of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park visible in the distant background.

Camaro SS following us, followed by two Fords.

All pictures were taken with a Canon 6D. I used a polarizer filter to enhance contrast. I bought the filter a couple of years ago at Labi Shinbashi in Tokyo and never regretted it!

There are a lot of interesting sculptures a couple of miles from this spot, like life-size elephants, dragons and such, made of rusty metal, planted in the middle of the desert. Since we came with a really big group it would have been kind of difficult to coordinate, so we missed out on that.
